Unknown-246x190If you’re your own boss or run your own business the networking online as well as in person will probably be a key part of your strategy to be visible, build relationships with your (potential) customers and to connect with them and new opportunities.

I’m a big believer in the importance of mindful networking that is done warmly, wisely and shrewdly. And when it comes to networking online it’s especially important that you get it right as you don’t get that visual and verbal feedback that you’ll probably pick up on when you network in person. On top of that when you’re networking online yours may be just one of millions of voices.

Though the month of February my friends at the British Library’s Business & IP Centre where  I run my ‘Soul Trader’ workshop each month are running a month of ‘Web in Feb’ – full of events to help you get the best of the internet for you / your business. As part Web  in Feb I recorded this video on Online Networking Tips. I hope you find it useful.  If you’re new to social media, or even if it’s not your natural form of communicating it can seem daunting, confusing or just meaningless. But if you step back and look at it in the contact of what you’re actually trying to achieve it can be far easier to approach and manage.
